I just thought I'd do a small piece on what is probably considered by many to be the very last Sweet song proper seeing as its the final track on the final
album proper.
Firstly, when it starts off with the accapella harmony vocals, they are absolutely spot on, then the guitars thump in and what turns out to be the chorus right at the beginning of the song is a really catchy tune. Thats followed by the verse which I think has more than a hint of Phil Spector about it. No, it doesn't murder anyone
, it is reminiscent of the songs by groups
like The Crystals and The Ronnettes from his famous wall of sound period. Steve does the lead vocals to a T and though its unlike any other Sweet song that I
can think of, it still rocks.
The only part of the song that reminds me of another Sweet song is the accoustic guitar segment near the end which is very similar IMO to the intrumental break in No You Don't.
Cheers. Ewan.
