I've always wondered about the end of the song, when Andy says 'Right, how long's that?' a voice presumably in the control room shouts
'Bloody Shuddup', is it Mick or Brian who shouts it? I've always thought it was Mick as I think he produced it?

I think Mick added the drums after Andy had recorded it. So I'm guessing it is the other way round and its Mick saying 'how longs that' and Andy
saying 'Bloody Shut Up????

According to Brian Manly in The Man who sang Blockbuster (see I have read it) it's Mick.
He carries out his duty

Ichabod Crane wrote:It is of course quite easy (when you know how) ... 1. Import track into sound editor 2. Do your thing like editing, adjusting volumes, setting equalizer, applying filters etc. 3. Find a nice backdrop 4. Bring it all together in Flash 5. Upload file to internet 6. Post and reference the above file

As Told To Myself By Mick | #9 | ||

Here is your Answer VC10
because the track was recorded without any drums Mick had to workout the timing to the track Andy had recorded. This meant that he had to listen to it over and over again to get the timing right so he wasn't distracted he sat behind his drums with a towel over his head. The track was played over and over Andy was in the corner of the studio chatting and fiddling with a guitar after a few times of listening to with the noise from Andy coming from the corner Mick finally Snapped and shouted "Bloody Shut Up" there was a live mike on so this shout was captured on tape this was later edited on to the end of the song .Because the original version of Andy's didn't have a guitar solo on it and the track was a bit short in time Andy added a guitar solo at the end of it he said "How longs that" I.E as in the finished song including the solo Micks shut was added back into the multi track and hey Presto you get what you hear. By the way this story was told to myself by Mick |
