Hi! Here is "Jackie" magazine article of Brian! (Aug.10 1974) and interview with Mick... (1998)
Interview with Mick Tucker by Kevin Smith (1998):
Q. Brian lost his voice during the
recording because of the Street attack on him What is the actual truth.
What happened was He'd been out somewhere and stopped at a local pub at about 10.50 PM to get some cigarettes. As he came out he was jumped the next
thing he can remember was coming round in the arms of a couple of young girls. They said these guys had beaten him up and kicked him in the throat several
times and said " That ought to do it "
Q. How long did he lose his voice
for
I really can't remember but I do remember going to Harley street with him to see a
Specialist. All he could do was make these Horrendous noises. What the doctor did was give him an injection in his throat and that enabled him to sing for
three to four hours. But it meant that it would add three weeks onto the healing time for each injection he had. So to enable him to complete the recording
session it meant he had to go to and get these
Injections down his throat via a tube.
Q So do you think that is the
truth?
I don't Know the Truth about the Attack only Brian Knows that but that's what he told me. But there's no smoke without Fire. Maybe he was messing
with someone's girlfriend or something like that. Like I said only Brian Knows the whole truth but that's how he told it to me. But his voice was never the same after that.
