I was thinking of going to Ballarat along with the four Melbourne shows but Budgie are playing that night. More Welsh gits
Andy, Mick and co played Penrith Panthers in 85. Funnily enough, the first gig of the tour was at a place called Sweethearts in Cabramatta. |

That's great news Eileen- you had that determined look in your eye at Bilston, so I'm really glad it's come off. Gill's a great girl, so you
two will have a ball. And you'll be seeing some of the nicer parts of Oz to boot- and I don't mean Penrith! The special support band The Radiators are
not bad either let me tell you. I shan't be there for the tour unfortunately...

listen to Mick,as Penrith is at the foot of the Blue Mountains a truley wonderful part of the world.I do agree with mick regarding the Radiators though,they
are a great band,i actually know Brian the singer who is also a resident of the Mountains.

Sorry Steve - didn't mean to imply Penrith's not lovely- far from it- it's a spectacular spot- but in chatting to Eileen at Bilston I was waffling
on about far north Queensland's attractions- as she hadn't been there on her last visit and was happy she'd decided to do it on this occasion.

Thanks for the offer, Steve, but I think we're more or less sorted for Penrith. We arrive the evening before the gig and I've found a nice looking
hotel by the river, not too far from the gig. The only pain is you can't order tickets from the RSL online, you have to phone through with your credit
card details! That means I have to work out the time difference...
We now have flights to Cairns booked and hotels reservations in Cairns & Townsville. We'll need a hire car to get us to Townsville, but I've found a company that'll let you take their cars that distance, then we can take a leisurely stroll back the day after the gig. Gill will fly back the next day, but we'll have another 5 weeks after that! We already have Melbourne & somewhere south of Brisbane booked up, but we're waiting to hear when assorted friends & relatives can be visited before we commit to trips to Uluru, Adelaide (possibly) & Canberra. We have a hotel on hold in Sydney, but I think we can do better, once we know dates for certain. I'm really looking forward to being there for Christmas & New Year again! Eileen |

WELL DONE YOU. Have a fantastic time. I would have to think twice at what you're planning but hats off to ya'. If Andy asked for some extra help on this tour, that would be a completely different matter! Pawl.

the gig,the club has just been renovated and is quite big now.You should enjoy the radiators a great rock band who are just about to celebrate 30 years.

The menu at the hotel's restaurant looks fantastic, I suspect we'll have to eat there before the gig!
Pete is the one who has to be admired - this will only be his second Sweet gig - the first was Penarth! Not that he's going for the gigs, he's going because I bullied him into it!

Penrith is now all booked up, after a couple of e-mails going astray in the ether and me meking the most of that fact I was still up at 3am last night &
making the necessary phone calls! I've even booked the restaurant for dinner on the Friday!
Stevie, I don't want to detract from the band - make sure you come to the gig to see them as well! 
Cairns is all booked up too, now I just need to reserve the hire car & wait for the Townsville tickets to go on sale.
