Last evening I was watching a TV program where two german policemen were going after some criminals and during a trailing the music was Ballroom Blitz. This
serie is not so old, the main characters are two highway patrols.

Just got myself a very nice leather jacket....in 'white'?
I already have a pair of white leather jeans and those (white) shoes from the Bilston gig!!!!!!!!!!! Hey, Ewan! I could end up looking like "Marty Hopkirk" but the leather option? I Love it. Is this to do with SWEET changing my life? Damn right, why else would I be lured into wearing white leather clothing?
I get better and better looking every day...... I cant wait for tomorrow!!

Well the jacket will be worn down the pub (The Pelican, You know it well UrsulaR) Tomorrow night!
The rest might be a step too much to take in for the locals for now but we'll see about a photo another night perhaps 'thepatrick'?

I have just had a read through some of the stories on here and found some to be quite brilliant, very amusing in some cases and most interesting in others.
........And hey, I might even let you see my 'white leather jacket' along with boat loads of other leather refinery???

STOP!!! I've only just started. I will still be wearing my beloved Platforms when they book me into to a nursing home for Glam rock Chic's, lol. Sweet
music will stay with me now, as will my obsession with Andy
Can't wait to prance around in my Bilston tshirt, wonder if they still make Hot Pants  .

I can always remember going into my local record shop or even a Woolworths type of big department store and actually having to ask for the single you wanted.
Not like now, where you can very discreetly give your chosen disc to a person, it's in the bag and your on ya' way.
Back then you arrived at the counter and said what single you'd like to pay for! "Ballroom Blitz" please by THE SWEET (in a loud voice because you were proud to be asking for that) but i can remember having to ask out aloud for some quite embarrassing chart singles that your Mum or younger Brother had asked you to buy for them!! Barry Blue, Donny Osmond and even a soul record could be on the list........painful at times.
I get better and better looking every day...... I cant wait for tomorrow!!

Pawl, you opened a can of worms here. When I bought The Six teens in 1974 I indeed was very proud to announce that I was the greatest fan of the Sweet and like
you I remember that I was very loud to ask for that single in my local record shop(somewhere in Belgium near Antwerp a place called Hemiksem) Until a
week later.
My dad wanted the single from JACK JERSEY (Papa was a poor man) and the same time my Sister wanted me to by a single from DONNA SUMMER (The Hostage) because I had the experience to by records. I still remember the day I had to go and asked for this two records, I could have died when I had to asked. And I remember the bloke's face in the shop. When there was a possibility to sink in the floor I would have taken that. After that, I mostly bought my records in Antwerp City where I could pic the record and pay with no questions or strange looks. |

Even worst than that. Ones I had to by a record from a chap called Cambel or something, the title was like a Rhinestone cowboy.
