I was at my local (as normal) this Thursday night and a old guy who was completely out of his head asked me about the way I was dressed for starters and then
about my hair! He then announced the word 'Sweet'.
Brilliant I thought until this Saturday in town when a couple of 'elderly' pub goers said to me...... "Bay City Rollers"? I said NO! THE F**KING SWEET. They replied with a rendition of Block-Blitzter!!
I get better and better looking every day...... I cant wait for tomorrow!!

This wasn't something that changed my life but it sure as hell made a few others sit up and listen.....they never had a choice!
Way back in 1980 (approximately) I held an all night party. Full of heavy metal dudes and hardcore rock followers. The party went really well and 'Unleashed In The East' by Judas Priest got more of its fair share of air play that night as I remember. You have to think 'vinyl' here, CD's didn't exist! So records were getting flipped from side to side the whole time and it was SO LOUD!! That's how they liked it and fair enough, they got what they wanted. The morning came and there were the usual few 'rockers' who'd had such a great time and were sound asleep, totally dead to the world all curled up on the floor, ZZzzzzzzzzzzzz......UNTIL. I cued up 'HELL RAISER' on the turntable at about 8:30am, Maximum volume (believe me, it was awesome) and waited.................the needle on the vinyl before the actual song started was incredibly loud on it's own and oh my god, when that "LOOK OUT" came through the six speaker system, ears were shattered, dreams cut short and heavy metal dudes were running for cover!! It was a fantastic sight to behold!!! I think the general question from the 'sleepovers' was, "What the f**k was that? SWEET my friends, that was SWEET! Changed their morning and probably damaged their hearing? Five went off to hospital for treatment (joking) and one actually stayed and got the hoover out (True) It was a real good night and I know for a fact that a few more SWEET albums were sold not so long after this party simply because of 'Hell Raiser' being played at 10 at 8:30am. Absolutety wonderful moment in my 'Sweet-life'.

Good story Pawl. i went to a party last week, when i arrived i was asked to select a couple of tracks, so i said "anything Sweet" the bloke thought i
meant Sweet as in cool!! some people!!!
Did manage to squeeze Teenage Rampage and Ballroom Blitz out of him in the end. |

It actually happened in a detached bungalow, I never really even gave the neighbours a thought actually! No one complained but lookin' at some of my
guests, I suppose they just thought 'Get on with it' One night only!!!
I just did what came naturally to me! It was bloody loud though. Even now I listen to music through a couple of Cerwin Vega! AT 100's. Floor standing bass reflex speakers! (About the same height as a pub bar) LOUDER than Concord in dB taking off?
