Thanks Percyy, we are home now and everything went smoothly except one thing, the car rental return. We did acutally go to the wrong terminal in Manchester,
went up to level 13 just to find out that it wasn't there. I guess this is what we have to live with, it happens all the time :-) Anyway, it was nice

What a day and night! Thanks to Stew and Kevin, who made it happen and to Andy for this great afternoon and the fab gig. It turned out I caught a cold,
wasn't so sure about it. The 27ºto 16º in Birmingham took its toll. But I enjoyed everything the same, though I had to dash up to the toikets, because my
nose started leaking. But all in all, Cheryl said it all, a great day and night. I'm only sorry I missed so much poeple to talk to.But perhaps next yearl
I'll be more me and mingle more.

It really was a fantastic day-night wasn't it.
To finally meet some fans I've never met before and equally as nice to catch up with all the old regulars. I managed to get a few nice Sweet items such as Andy's (XXL) leather belt, a back stage pass for the "Santa Monica Civic" gig from September 13th 1975!! A very nice tour shirt in blue with "The Sweet World Tour" embroidered on a union jack motif. Several other shirts and a whole bunch of stickers and passes. Brian Manly's new book about Brian and 4 or 5 CDs I needed too. Oh yeah! A bag of 'chain mail' and straps that I'll have to find a home for. I found the whole thing just flew by and before you knew it, it was all over. My only regrets were the fact I didn't speak to everyone I wanted to or if I did, not for long enough. Sorry Martin (Sherman Tank) I only realised I'd not got you those beers I promised to buy, damn it. It was brilliant to see Mick Duthie (hongkongmick) and his wife. We stayed at the same hotel and talked plenty. There must be alot more to come photo-wise I would think and video-wise too. Nice to meet you at long last Mr. Henka although we did meet many years ago as you pointed out to me. Also Kate and Elisabeth (hope you liked that S-W-E-E-T bling) A trip to Germany is looking like a very good idea right now.

I cannot add much to what has been said above but I'd just like to pass on my sincere thanks to Steve (IAMZOSO60)& Steph for their hospitality, Cheryl
& Paul for the Taxi'ng to and from the Robin, and Dunc for being Dunc! Great to see new and old friends alike. Nice surprise to see VC10 roll up as
well unexpected with Beth. It is a day that will certainly stay with me for the rest of my life. Thanks to Stew & Kev for bringing the afternoon together
and of course Andy for the chance for us to spend an unforgettable afternoon with him. Great to have a set list that was perfect for the evening. I loved Sweet
(Park) Life and Sex is On Fire (even though I didn't know the song but was given a blast of the original when I got home from my 10 year old!). As many
have said above, there never seems enough time and you always come away thinking 'I should have a chat with...' etc.
Regarding the video footage, I do have a bit. Mainly the band playing. The quality of video is okay (9/10)but the sound is pretty rubbish (3/10)- as you might expect given the volume and the little mike on my camera. As Andy was happy for us to video it, I'd rather find out from Stew/Kev/Andy how he feels about any of it being shown on You Tube. The last thing I'd want to do is Pi$$ Andy off after he allowed us to do this. Stew perhaps you could put up a separate post on what your understanding is on this and also about sending the files in. I did take some pictures as well and they are on my Facebook but I was a bit disappointed with them. I'm not sure if this has been posted elsewhere on here, but for those who were not at the gig, while I was filming 'Set Me Free' during his solo, Andy beckoned to me that he wanted my camera. Those familiar with this solo will realise that he normally uses a bottle or can (or Mr Sheen-Worcester) to 'torture' his Strat and get some great sounds from it. Yes, he used my camera, still rolling in video mode!!!!!!!!!!!!! I must admit I had concerns handing over my pride and joy which I had saved up my birthday money to purchase last October for £200 but then was also priveledged to have that moment!! The clip is okay and you do see Andys face in it but there is also alot of the Robins ceiling to be seen! Anyway, the camera is still working, albeit with a few scratches. The annoying thing is that the memory card was full before the end of Set Me Free so I didn't get the full song (Oh bugger!) Thanks again Andy for the great day. Lets hope we can do something similar i the not too distant future. Shermie

fantastic evening set list and then I get this amazing gift which I of course did not expect at all! You do know it was Andy's 60th and not
mine?
