Well, I've already bought my ticket, whether I won in the draw or not. I'm glad too, as the cost has almost doubled since I bought it!

Most were planning on going anyway, but there were certainly a number (mainly from abroad) that only decided to come once they'd heard if they were
successful for the 60th 'do' as well.

In my humble opinion i think that's disgusting. The mark of a true fan is not really a person who would only show up at the chance of meeting Andy and co
and going to his party.

All of us want to meet our heros, no matter what the circumstances are. This is the only chance in a lifetime for some people to meet Andy, its not surprising
that they want to go to the 60th bash, concidering the cost of the airfare too!
I would fight the 4 horsemen of the acopalypse just to say 'Hi' to Steve! So good luck to all those who are on the list. |

Well i was in two minds if i should ask to be considered, having only just found Sweet, but as you say Ipsmith,to meet Andy would be fantastic and i
couldn't help but try. And anyway invite or not, we are all going to have a great time at Bilston whatever the outcome

theres always someone who gets the hump about fans from abroad getting invites and then booking tickets! , who cares !!, good luck to them, as ive said before
at the end of the day the 60 who get invited will have a great time at the party and if its not me, well its not a problem, there is a bar where we can all
meet, so lighten up

i didn't mean it like that. i wouldn't be jealous of someone from abroad getting an invite instead of me. i go to Bilston for the show and the
atmosphere. Fame has never been anything that influences me. I'm not the sort of person who gets giddy cuz they might meet a rockstar and i never have
been.
By all means, good luck to all who opted in, and i hope both the 60 and the 60 000's have the best time possible.

I don't really like the random draw for the Birthday Party. There are a few die hard fans that ALWAYS go, every year, and have been since they first heard
the Sweet. I think those fans should be rewarded first. Then the rest of us can come. I realize out of country people like myself have not had the opportunity
to show our loyalty, and it's only the distance that's stopped us. Still, if you have been there gig after gig to the point where Andy looks into the
audience and recognizes your face, you should get an automatic invite.
That's just my 2 cents. |
