Many biogs state he was born in 1950, however Steve said himself here on the forum somewhere that he was born in 1948! Which makes him 60!

I think I read the bit about Jones being in the studio somewhere else too and ofcourse the conclusion: 'GIVE US A WINK is an essential album for any
classic rock collection' is one we all agree on. GUAW is still my fav Sweet album, thanks for the review.

I've just rejoined this groups after a few months away, for personal reasons. However, I'd like to address an earlier question in this thread. Many
have asked if any of the male fans had crushes on any of the original lineup. Let me offer the perspective of a gay man - me.
I was about 11 or 12 when I got into Sweet's music. Sure, I'd seen photos of the band in magazines my older sister would buy, but all that did for me was to connect faces to the sounds I heard. I guess I knew back then that I was "different" to the other guys at school, but not really aware of how, or why. I don't think I was ever attracted to any of the band in that way, but I do agree that they were good looking guys. The costumes and the behaviour certainly gave them an air of outrageousness and theatricality, but I think I would have enjoyed the music even if they just wore jeans and t-shirts. Make sense? |

I personally think **on soapbox now** that crushes aren't limited to sexual perference. Anyone, no matter who they choose to be with in their personal
life, can enjoy watching an attractive person, male or female. You feel their charisma and sexuality. And not everyone who is attracted to their gender will
want to actually engage in intimate relations. Of course for awhile there, it was pretty much impossible. Those things only fit in one place at a time. **off
