I can't read in other person's "books" , but no, I never thought one minute that he was involved in this terrible thing with kids.
Why not? Because my intuition told me he's just a lonely man who never had a childhood, who never had time to play a kid's life...he was stared at, talken about, accused, gossiped about by grown ups. I can imagine that a so emotional person as he was, felt good just to have kids around him, because kids are genuine and not accusing. He could be just Michael there. Apart from that, the man was proven not guilty.

Though it's some days later, I sort of am still in shock. He accompanied me through my childhood and youth, he was only 2 years older than I am and I
think,the age is starting, when everything is possible, including a sudden death under whatever circumstances. But on the other hand, we always can die under
whatever circumstances. Ooooooohhh, am I in a black mood......

This song was originally on the Dangerous album and was written for Ryan White the kid who died from aids (he was a hemophiliac and somehow got the aids virus)
but it now seems fitting for Michael himself, its a really beautiful song:

Tragical | #47 | |||||||||

A tragical death to a tragical life.
He was probably very disturbed from his own bereft childhood, and had an unhealthy interest in children, perhaps he didn't really understand that himself and only thought he was "the best friend a child could have" (because he knew how fragile/exposed a child is to grown ups, and how he didn't get to have a proper childhood of his own. His father is mainly to blame for this). Thus he was 'sick', and would have needed psychological help really. Add to this disturbed/haunted personality the amount of media publicity and public pressure he was under many times - combined with his patological behaviour concerning his own looks and appearances - and it's not strange that he got a more or less paranoid perception of "the outside world" (best to build a - catatonic - world of one's own, with animals, a private amusement park, an oxygen chamber, etc, etc. Neverland was his hideway from a demanding world, a world who wanted him to grow up, take normal responsibility, etc. I guess if you're rich enough you don't end up at hospital, you end up at "Neverland" (look at f.x. Howard Hughes). He must have been very troubled throughout his whole life with this inner conflict. Some of it is reflected in some of his lyrics - more or less explicitly. What is the song/video "Thriller" but a child's most inner fear and repetetive nighmares of monsters who come out at night and haunt you...? No one can take away from him his exceptional musical/dance talent, and the capacity to transcend the gap between "black & white" in terms of musical preferences. He was the greatest dancer/performer since his own big idol James Brown, and his moves mesmerissed a whole world. He was "the magician" when it came to that. But there is a line between make believe and a harsh reality, and I guess the child within him (who never had a real childhood) had difficulties in coping with that. Most of all I think he was a very lonely person, despite being adored by millions of people. That's what's really sad too. One shouldn't underestimate the importance he had to young people/children in poor parts of the world, to them he almost had a Messiac impact. He was a talented black guy who through his gifts became one of the biggest stars ever in this world. In THAT sense he was "the children's best friend", in the sense that he still had the sensibility of a child himself and often communicated the fears and feelings of these children/young people in a way they could relate to. That he was mentally fragile himself didn't really affect their adulation of him. To them he was "god", saving the world with almost godlike music- dance and spectacular videos/shows. He was an icon, but he was also a very troubled person. Sometimes these things go hand in hand in people's lives; and in his the other factors also contributed in enhancing these odd antics and making him look like a freak himself more often than not. And I guess he really never came to terms with this himself. That's what's so tragical. And also that his own kids are left without any real care from now on - the woman he got his first two ones with has signed a contract where she has no right to claim them, and the other one no one really knows anything about. They are left to a wrecked childhood, just like he himself was, but which he didn't want them to have. But his music lives on - and will hopefully provide for some inheritance for those kids, after the astronomical debts have been paid. (How could he lose it like that when it came to the money? ). No one can deny his musical legacy to this world. I still remember being 19 year old, being on a school trip to Berlin, Germany, in 1983 and together with my classmates dancing our a-s off to a s-t hot "Billy Jean" at a disco in the warm spring night, as us 'debutants' soon were to leave school and start our own lives for real. That is probably one of the best dance/pop songs ever, and certainly qualifies him for the title "King of Pop". The other things are just sad I think. |

From 6.30am on Friday I received countless funny and sick jokes about him. Did anyone else get bombarded?
