I am staying at the village Hotel in Dudley as both, the Robin and Haven never replied to my various e-mails and faxes and when I finally called them up they
were booked out.
Anybody else at Dudley with whom I might share transpost after the gig? |

Hi all!I wonder, what is a real Sweet fan?I live in Norway,I am one of the 60..and I think I deserved it.Well I have never been in England at a Sweet concert
before, but this time I was planning to go long before I ever heard about the Andys 60 year old party, but I mean that is not a real point.I have been a long
time fan since 1971,I have been at so many gigs here in Scandinavia, even two canncelled gigs, where I travelling many many miles to end up with nothing. But I
never let The Sweet down.In 1996 Janne Pedersen another hard core Sweet fan from Norway and I was together with Sweet one week in DenmarkIt was a fantastic
week, when we lived at the same hotels, have breakfast and dinners together with the band and so on.Andy even gave us some dinners on his own account. And the
partys after the gigs was so memorable..I think Andy always have been a very friendly person to me.Always got records and so on signed with no problems. What
more can I say:Got a huge Sweet collection as well!!Don,t blame because I am a abroad fan,I think most of you don;t ,I hope!See you all soon!A very friendly
norvegian guy and a all time Sweet fan!!

As it was, it took over an hour to get it downloaded on a "borrowed" wifi connection because the hotel one wasn't working! So yay! I'll see you all there!
By the way, you're right, I did bring you back a stick for your parcel!

What a BIG surprise when I received Stewarts email and
the attached audio clip, I couldn't believe my ears. You can't imagine what kind of positive feelings this has unleashed. This invitation made me a
very happy man.
I feel very honored . Let's say it like this. I remember being a kid of barely 10 years old and my mom being a sports and dance teacher. My mother bought the single Funny, Funny to try new dance passes for her pupils and I enjoyed listening to this new music very much. That's how I discovered Sweet. I literally grew up with Sweet. The next couple of years lots of songs were released and I felt very proud that "my" band was producing such a great music. My musical taste started to develop and each time Sweet released a new LP, it became a great moment. I didn't't speak much English at that time, could really understand the words….but this was the kind of music in which I always discovered new things every time I listened to it. I grew up and started to appreciate other tracks (the harder work) of Sweet. Sweet continued to offer me great music in a different more mature way now. Sweets music and my character went line in line, both became a bit rougher and more mature during the 70's, that's why Sweet became my band. Another great moment was somewhere around 1990 when I learned there was a concert of Sweet somewhere far away in Germany (I was living in Belgium). That was a unique opportunity to see them live. What a great experience that was…all the songs I knew from listening to my old singles, LP's and CD's…now brought to me live on stage. It was a real highlight and made me very happy to be able to see this. During that concert, I tried with my first camera to film a song… apparently that was something I shouldn't't have done, I learned. It was a great experience and sensation to see Sweet live those days Than came the CD "A". I appreciated so much that Andy created that CD. The style was different, it had a German touch, I liked it…but god, it was again the same magic feeling I got hearing this music. I remember also when I read for the first time the book " Are you Ready, Steve" which gave me a good insight of the Sweet life behind the scene. It only increased my sympathy for the Sweet once again. A couple of years later, I saw Sweet live again in Luxembourg where I had moved to as well as in Belgium….and each time, these great feelings came up. I really love this band, "my" band. Two years ago, I bought the book "Sweet - Live on Tour" from Bubi Heilemann which gave another new and completely different vision of the Sweet fab four. I understand better and better who they were (are) and what they were like. The photos were simply perfect. Once again, a very positive experience I have grown older now and changed a lot…but my love for the Sweet music hasn't't changed since I was a 9 year old kid in 1971. I now appreciate different tracks and songs than I used to do when I was younger, but I still love every single piece of it For me Sweet is like a puzzle of which I got my first piece when I was a kid, over the years I have obtained more and more pieces of it. Every little piece, be it a single, a CD , a live concert or a book has made my "Sweet" experience more complete. Sweet has never disappointed me, it has become part of me and who I am I guess that will never change although time has changed a lot. Than came Stewart email. I must admit that when I Stewart an email a couple of Weeks ago letting him know that I'd be interested to come to Andy's 60th birthday party, I never dreamed or even hoped to get an invitation. I'm not active on message boards, I don't know other Sweet fans as such, I'm just a simple fan on my own who enjoys this music since I was a kid, that's all. So, the invitation came as a HUGE (and I mean a HUGE) surprise to me. It is a direct hit in my hart. I'm very much honored to be invited to Andy's 60th birthday on June 19th.
I'm interested to catch up with other Sweet fans and have a
wonderful time in Bilston. Just drop me a private message, that would be nice
Thanks

I doubt whether the 2 dancers from the marquee would look much like they did 20 odd years ago! Probably wouldn't get quite the same reaction!
