Sweet places to visit... |
Lead | ||
|
This summer me and my family are going to the southwest of England for a holiday. I wanna try and squeeze in some visits to Sweet-related places. I intend to
visit Mick and Brian on the way from Harwich to the southwest and Clearwell is on the list aswell. Can you help me with suggestions of Sweet-realted places in
this area that I could visit ?

Pop into 'The Black Swan' in Devizes.
It's Andy's local and you could even bump into the man Himself.!
Clearwell castle is ok but you may have to blag your way in to see anything of interest.Try giving them a ring first and telling them you are looking for a wedding venue..they may then let you in.! Clearwell Castle, formerly Clearwell Court, is a mock Gothic building built for Thomas Wyndham, dating from 1728. After renovation, it was used regularly as a rehearsal and recording studio by bands including Sweet, Bad Company, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin

From 1966 to 1973, I used to live near Ruislip, unoffical Sweet HQ in the 70s and not far from Brian's resting place in the Brakespear
Crematorium.

Sammy, i think the reason we all chipped in for the seat was because there was no memorial to Mick at all.

Am I right in thinking they used to live somewhere around Gerrards Cross and Iver? I drive through there during my work. Some of the houses are the type they could be living in, in their heyday. |

I believe they were based not far away in Ruislip, as was I, in the early 70s.

I think for a true Sweet tour you need to add watching VC10 dance, drinking with Dunc, and Pawl's attic.

Spot on Phoebe! Well, I've seen VC dancing and I've been drinking with Dunc so that
means I only have Clearwall Castle and Pawl's attic left then! |
