A friend of mine has two young children aged 4 & 7 who seem to really love catchy tunes.
When they recently discovered Abba, I suggested we might see what reaction they gave to Sweet's single collection. I bought her one of the greatest hits collections to play in the car.
Recently, I visited and the Sweet CD was playing. To my astonishment, the kids were singing all the words to Coco, Wig Wam Bam, Fox On The Run, Funny Funny and their favourite, Poppa Joe. They love them, and demand the cd in the car at the start of every journey!
I may not be paternal, but I can't begin to describe the feeling of seeing these youngsters enjoying the music of Sweet. I guess it was what I was like when the Beatles first came on the scene.
